2023 Aston Martin DBR22With the recently unveiled DBR22, Q by Aston Martin, the exotic automaker’s custom subsidiary, is commemorating ten years of producing ultra-exclusive exotica. The DBR22 follows past Q by Aston Martin projects like the Vantage V600 and Vulcan. It is a two-seater open-cockpit sports car idea in the same style as the Aston Martin V12 Speedster. Despite being only a concept, Aston Martin will probably produce a small number of exquisite DBR22s for its most affluent clients. The 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine under the seductive hood produces 705 horsepower. The DBR22 is an impractical machine without weatherproofing. But it was never supposed to be; rather, this is a work of art that the world’s elite can periodically appreciate and exhibit.

2023 Aston Martin DBR22 Exterior

Any product from the Q by Aston Martin division must be visually striking, and this sports car doesn’t fall short. The DBR1 and DB3S are two iconic open-cockpit sports vehicles that are reminiscent of the stunning exterior of the Aston Martin DBR22. The proportions of the coach-built body, with its muscular panels and curves in the ideal locations, are somehow both retro and modern. The redesigned front grille, which departs from the typical horizontal veins of past Astons, is made of carbon fiber. A distinctive horseshoe-shaped vent on the hood increases airflow from the V12 below. One of the most eye-catching elements to the design are the twin nacelles that rise from behind the seats, again to aid airflow. Along the sides are stylish 21-inch wheels with 14 spokes, created specifically for the 2023 DBR22. Moving to the rear, the new Aston Martin DBR22 sports car has a full-width light bar positioned above a perforated panel that assists with the exit of hot air. Large diameter tailpipes and an integrated diffuser complete the look. The Aston Martin DBR22’s colors include the new green hue seen here as a Paint to Sample option, but there will be very few limits for customers who eventually order a production model. The Aston Martin DBR22 has the following measurements: 178.1 inches in length, 78.3 inches in width, and 47 inches in height. It has a 106.5-inch-long wheelbase. In many ways, it is the same size as the V12 Speedster. The DBR22’s curb weight is unclear, but the brand-new carbon fiber bodywork should keep the weight in a manageable range.

The inside of the Aston Martin DBR22 is exquisitely made from premium leathers and exposed carbon fiber, far from being a bare-bones racer. The driver can see important information on contemporary infotainment displays, and there are real buttons and knobs underneath for things like ventilation. Although the Q by Aston Martin interior will likely feature a broad variety of seat kinds, materials, and colors for consumers to choose from, the Aston Martin DBR22’s seats are carbon fiber performance items. From the driver’s seat, one can see a lowline wind deflector, which may help with comfort given the lack of a standard windshield.

The 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 powering the Aston Martin DBR22 is the same as the one in the Speedster. However, the DBR22’s 705 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque are better. The DBR22’s eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission allows it to travel from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds and up to 198 mph. Without a roof or windshield, we’re not sure how it feels to go at almost 200 mph, but it sounds like an experience that would leave one feeling rather disoriented. The DBR22 will be a blast to drive on both normal roads and the racetrack thanks to a unique front/rear shear panel design and a specific adaptive damper calibration that is believed to increase torsional rigidity.

2023 Aston Martin DBR22 Price & Release date

The Aston Martin DBR22 has been teased online since the third quarter of 2022 and will be displayed in public at the Monterey Car Week that same year. The automobile may be released in 2023 since Aston Martin only states that it will “become a production reality” for a select group of buyers. The 2023 Aston Martin DBR22 is rumored to cost roughly £1.8 million, which, at today’s exchange rates, works out to about $2.16 million. An MSRP in this range is not particularly surprising when you take into account that prior Q by Aston Martin models, such the Vulcan, went for $2.3 million.
